It is down to the wire now and things are really starting to speed up. We pulled an all-nighter last night, working in shifts to try and get the robot done in time. There have been a few malfunctions that needed to be fixed, although things are still coming steadily along. Currently we are working on the programming and electrical elements of the robot.

Our season started around five weeks ago, and after much contemplating, arguing, and insanity, our robot is just about complete. We are currently adding the finishing touches to our masterpiece, getting it ready for our first competition at the New Jersey regional. Hopefully our team members will still be able to function after this crazy build season. There were always the questions hanging over our heads, such as:
Will we have it done in time? or,
If it is, then will it work? it was enough to have us pulling our hair out in frustration. Only time will tell for the second question, but our team is confident that our robot will do what we designed it to do. But not only was this build season hectic, it was also full of jokes that only our tired minds could possibly find funny. Although this is of no surprise as our diets have consisted of Hot Pockets, frozen pizzas, and soda.

As many of you know, our team made it to the nationals this year. We were the second pick of our alliance of 222 and 1218. Our alliance,
after several incredibly hard matches, won the Archimedes field and earned a trip to Einstein, where three other alliances, each beating
their respective field, contested to be first in the world. Though we were eliminated in the first round, "Team Overdrive now (sic)
belongs to a very elite group of three rookies that have made a trip to Einstein", said Wayne Penn.
Now that the season is over, we are participating in the off-season events. Currently, we are scheduled to be in
- Bridgewater Battle Royale (June 6)
- Indiana Regional Invitational (July 31 - August 1)
Wish us luck!

We had an incredible season so far.
Our build season was pretty crazy (and therefore extremely fun). Many of us slept over at the lab, also
known as Tyler's garage, and stayed up late working. Near the end of the six weeks, we were finished and had
a few extra days for driving, testing, and tweaking. Those few days went by far too quickly, and before we
knew it, we had to pack up the robot. It was hard watching our robot, nicknamed Sleeping Grandma (for
Tyler's grandmother who slept right next to the lab), leave.
The following week passed by, and it was soon time for the New Jersey Regional. We had some problems on
Thursday with the autonomous code not running, but thankfully, we were able to fix the code overnight. The
next two days were quite strange. We hadn't expected nearly the amount of success we had throughout the rest
of the tournament. Team Overdrive was one of the two only undefeated teams by the end of the Preliminaries
and had one of the highest scoring matches of the event. Our alliance selections were, to say the very, very
least, incredibly difficult. We finally decided on choosing 1923 and jumped on the opportunity to choose
2344. After six incredibly nerve-wracking matches, our alliance came out victorious.
Another week, and we were competing in the New York regional. Unfortunately, we lost our first match, but
even so, we continued playing the best we could. We won and lost several more matches, and later accepted
the invitation to join 375's alliance for the eliminations. With the alliance of 375, 2753, and 555, we won
several rounds but unfortunately lost. However, our team won several awards, including the Design Award.
Then we started watching matches and thinking. We wanted to be faster, stronger, better. Almost immediately,
we decided on faster intake and output motors. Tyler had an idea to add a fan. Our new ground encoder wheels
let us improve our traction control. And now with our new toys, we are going to Atlanta.
Thanks to all the teams that have helped and mentored us. We really, honestly couldn't have done any of this
without you.
And most importantly, as a Christian team, thank you Jesus. One of our team's mottos is, "follow the cloud,"
referring to God leading the Israelites out of Egypt. We have "followed the cloud", and we've gone past all
of our expectations.
Can't wait to play and compete with all the teams. Good luck to you all!
